[DML] upper ball joint movement

I purchased 2 NOS upper ball joints from a vendor.  With the boots
removed, I can see how they only move along a straight "notch."  The
thing is, one of them moves completely from end to end within the
notch, and other stops moving about 1/4" - 1/2" short each way.  In
other words, the movement seems a little bit restricted compared to
the other one.  Is this a problem?
