Hello Gang - The Adjustable Fan Switch (K4002DP) that we offer was sorted out after Winged1 went through 3 otterstats in a one year period. In every case, the failure mode was to engage at progressively lower temperatures until the fans were coming on at start-up. This adjustable switch can be set to engage at any temperature between 180 and 240 degrees using a small twist knob. I have been running the original prototype installation on Winged1 for a couple of years now, without any issues. The switch uses the original wiring, and the otterstat is left in place to plug the hole in the coolant pipe. The unit itself looks rather industrial, but it functions very well and is quite compact. These have been installed in many cars, and I have heard only positive feedback from the owners. (Did I mention the limited lifetime warranty on the switch when properly installed?)
