It is part number 100816, and is the temperature sensing switch that turns on and off the fans (http://delorean.com/dmcstore/ViewPage.asp?PageID=116 line 65). John sells several versions at http://specialtauto.com/delorean-parts/Keep-it-cool.html I think my car is doing the same thing as well and the fans are now running any time the ignition is on - should have replaced that when I did the water pump!
