So all of your "countless" posts about one of your former cars is 3rd hand information. When an insurance company totals a car it becomes theirs. They can destroy the vin plate if they want to. In fact in many States it is now law that the title (if left to sell with the car) becomes a "salvage" title so the car can never be registered again. When you bought it you knew it wasn't a registerable car, it could only be used for parts. That is to prevent people like you, who buy a parts car, from trying to put it back together and selling it as a car.
