Hello everyone, I have run into a rather unexpected problem. When I purchased my car it did not come with a door key (PO lost it) and since now I have my door locks working again I thought this would be a good time to cut a new key for the doors. After having extreme difficulty finding someone to cut the door key blank I decided to call DMCH. I was informed that it would be VERY difficult to find someone to cut the key because the DMC 12 is the only car in the US to use this particular lock. Great. Furthermore, I was told that there is a conversion for the key code that would allow a locksmith to cut the key. Perhaps some of you fellows in Europe have this?? Has ANYONE had any luck having a new door key cut from the code for an early vin car? If so, where should I look? I guess if all else fails I can put new locks in the car but I thought if my door locks work why fix what ain't broke...
