Speedo angle drives often fail. If the interior seems worn, it may have  more 
than 18k. Check the tires. The originals were NCT's and at 18 thou, they  
should have plenty of tread. If they've been replaced yet other work wasn't  
done, I'm guessing your mileage is bogus.
