My squeak sounds surfaced suddenly and sounded exactly as you both describe. Driving to work in the morning, all was silent. Driving at lunch time was horrible. Even looking at the front end made it squeak. Some lithium grease sprayed on anything that looked like a joint in and around the front end removed it almost immediately. That was a year and 10,000 miles ago and the sound hasn't returned.
