John, It was not my intent to put the quality of your items in to question. As you know, I have purchased a number of items from you and have always been satisfied. While it is clear the Lotus/DMC engineers wanted to use off-the-shelf parts, they took this "standard" master cylinder and changed something (the springs? the pistons?) to make it 63/37 instead of the 50/50 Saab was using. A DeLorean is not a Saab, clearly the weight ratio is different. The brake calipers/rotors are different, and the wheels are different. It is unfair to say that because this part is good for Saab, it is therefore good for DeLorean. I will agree, the Saab part "works"... But is it correct? Without knowing why DeLorean used the 63/37 setup, I am left to blindly trust that the engineers had a valid reason for modifying the MC. Given the option (and based on some of the feedback here the past few days), I am inclined to try and stick with the way Lotus/DMC engineered it. They know (knew) a heck of a lot more about automotive design than I do. The one thing that is unclear to me, can we still get the 63/37 master cylinders? Maybe James or Warren can answer than one.. --- John Hervey <john@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Marc, I have sold at least 200+ Saab MC with no > problems.
