Mark: You do realize that a project car can cost you 20-30$K of more to restore based on its condition! So in the long run, spending 15-20 will get you a car you can drive day 1. Taking on a project car might mean you will not be able to have it on the road reliably for 3-4 years and after spending a considerable amount of money. My name is Mark McCoy, and for just about as long as I can remember I've been a fan of the DMC-12. BTTF was just a footnote to the car's incredible legacy. Admittedly, this message may seem a little off the track, but a well-respected member here actually recommended I post this here to see if there was anyone out there willing to help us out. I've always wanted a DMC-12 of my own, but life beat me to my dream. Bills, wife, kids, and other stuff has really restricted my budget (not to mention working in a commission-pay career) to the point where I just don't feel comfortable putting out $15-20K on a childhood dream and potentially risking my family's livelihood. I've been searching in vain offering to take a DeLorean (even a project car) off of someone's hands, offering it a good home to an owner who will care for it and cherish it for life. We don't have tons of liquid cash to drop on a "new" DeLorean, but we do have the resources to take good care of her. Only the diehard DMC fans and owners out there can understand this sort of passion! Can anyone help us? We'll take just about anything if we can manage it.
