A thought has just occured to me. On many DeLoreans I notice the engine cover sits firmly in place and makes no contact with any of the engine components. On mine, the engine cover makes contact with the Coolant bottle (still the original) cap because it seems to sit higher up in the compartment. It also makes contact on some lines on the left hand side just back of the AC compressor. Because of this, there are dents and bends in the metal screen of the cover. Because of the slight play that exists in the metal cover while it is latched down, is it possible the rattle sound is coming from the Engine cover making contact with the coolant bottle cap and that an acceleration is needed to rattle the cage enough? Should it be that there is no play at all in the cover when latched down? I'll check on it later in the week by insulating the areas on the cage and see if the sound dissapears. Thoughts? -Kevin VIN 2234 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
