Mike, Try spraying the fittings with PB Blaster or your favorite equivalent, then while it is soaking go out and buy some flare-nut wrenches or 'line wrenches' in the appropriate sizes at Sears. These wrenches will help keep you from stripping the fittings. Remember to continuously tighten then loosen as you are removing them if they are really tight to avoid breakage.
