Update.... Yesterday while talking to Warren on the phone I fired up the car with the A/C on MAX. I let it idle for about 1/2 hour and the car ran cool as a cucumber and the air was ice cold. So I decided to run down to the post office, everything was fine. When I re-started the car....no cold air? ...as I got home the fuse for the AC blew. The wire to the AC was hot as fire and it melted the block. I re-wired the fuse with an external inline fuse link and tried it again. I cranked up the car again and had a look.... the clutch was trying to move, a little. I used a pole to tap it and give it a shove and it locked and started spinning and working. On close inspection I could see metal shavings around the inside of the clutch. So it seems the problem is the clutch, or the electronic mechanism that activates the clutch. Any ideas? - VB >From: "David Teitelbaum" <jtrealty@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Reply-To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [DML] Re: A/C Trouble >Date: Wed, 24 May 2006 14:00:13 -0000 > >Your A/C symptoms can be caused by one of the following: >Overcharge and the high limit is shutting you down >Undercharge and the low limit is shutting you down >Moisture in the system and it freezes shutting you down > [moderator snip] To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
