Possible causes of excess pressure in the crankcase: Cracked, stuck, worn, or missing piston rings Exessively worn valve guides. Improperly adjusted valves Plugged up or not connected vacuum hoses to create the negative pressure. Pull the oil filler. Take a small piece of stiff card stock like a 3x5 index card and place it over the fill on the motor as the motor is idling. It should stay in place. If it does not, you have problems.
