Bummer - North Carolina will let you use any plate on the car from the year of manufacture for an antique vehicle provided you keep the regular plate in the car with you to present as requested. (would be cool to have an 81 plate that reads DMC-12) Unfortionately, the car also has to be at least 35 years old. :( Will have to keep checking to see if there are other vintage options.
