In order to pass the cruise portion (or dyno part of the test) you may need to do a tune-up replacing the air filter, ignition wires, spark plugs, distributer cap, and rotor. You may also need to have the fuel injectors cleaned and tested. Even if you don't have to pass a test it is still in your best interests to have the car running right. For one thing it will give you maximum fuel effiecincy. You might also need a valve adjustment. After doing all of this you might also notice more power.
