I have never heard of a trans leaking at the plug with a proper new copper washer installed - Something isn't right and it should be obvious. That is, no copper gasket, wrong size gasket, wrong size plug, cracked case (unlikely), damaged sealing surfaces. The transmissions can usually leak but the plug is not a usual problem area.
