And "Mark V" recommended a left-hand drill bit. Makes one wonder if there's  
such a thing as a left-hand cobalt bit, and where you could buy them. I  
wondered, and I found them: at McMaster-Carr. (no 800 number: 732-329-3200)  A 1/8" 
bit is nearly 5 bucks, but if I need one, I'll know where to look.
