Right, but remember, Marty was heading right toward an obstacle when
he hit 88mph. Had he not been transported back in time, he would have
wrecked the car in glorious fashion.

I'm certain I could get my DeLorean up to 88mph in a shopping mall
parking lot if I didn't have to worry about stopping distance.
