Ok, I'm throwing in my two cents here. No one has mentioned using tubular steel to raise the seat up. A piece of 2" or 3" square tubular steel, 14" long, under each rail, will allow the original studs to mount to the tubing and then new studs or bolts can be fashioned to anchor the tubing to the floor. This will now allow crash forces to be transmitted back down to the floor.
