I used transparent glass paint to redo mine. You can find it in most arts and craft stores and it's not too expensive. You will need a bottle of red and one of yellow. Mix a few drops of the red in with the yellow and then apply with a brush. Do a heavy coat (only one coat) to make sure you don't end up with brush strokes and let it dry for 24 hours, making sure to keep the tail lights level so the paint doesn't pool. Don't touch it while it's drying or it will leave finger print marks. It's a little tricky to do but I had good results.
