Actually, I've never heard any other car start up like this, so I'm fairly sure this is not normal. Anyways, When I first turn the key, the car starts up and shoots the RPM's up to around 3000 and stays there for about 15 seconds. Then it settles down to around 800. The throttle does not move at all while this is happening. Any thoughts? >>> Corey, No that is not right. The car should start, then typically it will cycle up and down for a few seconds (say from 600-1000 rpm) while the fuel system is in warm-up mode, then it should settle down to around 700 rpm.
