A recent thread about concerns for a galvanic reaction between a stainless header coolant bottle and aluminum sparked an idea. This group tends to shoot ideas down pretty quickly by spotting flaws so I am posting this.... What if I wrapped a coolant bottle in kevlar using a fiberglass epoxy to strengthen it and protect it from heat? I realize the cost is prohibitive for many owners but I am considering trying this myself with some old kevlar I have around. I'm not looking to stop rounds here, but I think it should strengthen an original bottle, maintain an original look (kevlar fiber is a yellowish tan color) and make a bottle that will withstand anything that you could throw at it in the engine compartment. As I said, I want to turn 6859 into the absolute most up to date type of Delorean (as soon as I do this I'll probably sell her and look for another challange :) Nate To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
