My 5 speed got around 26 MPG on my 1184 mile round trip to DCS Memphis in 2002. Ken once had mileage experience posted for the event on the DCS site. I don't know whether it is still there or not. It would not be cost effective to switch your car to a 5 speed transmission but if your mileage is typical for automatics they must use more fuel. I drive 65 miles to work each way, have an automatic, get about 19-20 mpg, which really isn't too bad. But an extra 2-3 mpg would help the gas bill alot. Not worried about performance as much as mpg. Thanks much.
