[Moderator note: Please take this topic to private email or some other forum. - Mike Substelny, DML moderator of the week] The issue is not with duty or taxes that Canada Customs charges (I used to work for them before being their Tech guy). The problem is when the shipping companies sees a 20.00 item and charges another 30.00 to fill out a few blanks and pay the couple of bucks of taxes - then charges you $$$$ for the service. The only solution is not to use a shipping company (the post office has Custom Officers on staff who do the paperwork themselves if it is warranted) or to import large quantities to limit the per unit cost of the brokerage charges.
