Vapor lock is essentially what happens when the accumulator fails and you get the "hot start" problem. Normally cars with in-tank electric pumps won't vapor lock, (I recall back in carburated/mechanical pump days an electric pump near the tank was a common cure for vapor lock) but the K-jet system is a funny animal.
