The article about stainless Fords that James provided concludes saying examples of the 1936 Sedan, the 1960 Thunderbird, and the 1967 Lincoln Continental are on display at the Crawford museum here in Cleveland. Oddly, it does not mention that the VIN 500 DeLorean is on display with them. The Crawford's library includes a considerable breadth of information about all of these cars. I combed through it and read many pages of their history for an article I wrote for DeLorean World (Volume 16, #1). That article included only the most interesting bits of information from 20+ pages of notes I took. For example the story of the abuse taken by those '36 Fords during WWII is pretty amazing; it gives me great faith in my DeLorean's stainless body. The three stainless Lincolns were made in 1967, but they were fitted out with different trim packages (I think two were actually finished as '68s, though my memory is fuzzy on the numbers). I could go on all day in this off topic discussion. If anyone wants to know more about this topic contact me offline or buy me a drink in Chicago. - Mike Substelny James Espey wrote: >A couple people have asked about the image used in this month's >wallpaper image: > >http://delorean.com/downloads.asp#wallpapers > >More info on the stainless Fords can be found here: > >http://www.alleghenyludlum.com/pages/companyinfo/stainlesscars.asp > > > [snip] To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
