Hello, In answer to your question: Original Productions, the owner of the donated car and underbody, allowed the car, singular, to be butchered. But it should be said that the car was not "perfectly good". Though some effort was made to make the car look good, it was in sad shape. All that was lost to the collective world-wide Delorean inventory of parts were two underbodies, and a car's worth of smacked up body panels. A small price to pay for the publicity the show generated. Though I wish the project had succeeded, the show exposed a new generation to the Delorean, so it can't be considered a total loss.
