Have to jump in here ?. To double the volume you have to increase the wattage by 10X! What a more powerful amp will offer in increased clarity on the instrumentation and vocals, in other words it brings the sounds forward in the listing experience ? think headroom in the amp. At the same time you realize increased channel separation and better stereo effects A good high power sound system will offer an increased listening experience without being excessively loud (lots of headroom) where as a low power system will create a blaring unclear sound at the same volume while the amp approaches square wave output (low headroom).
