Do the Caps get charged ? I'd suspect the switches inside the door, too. I can't really believe that they lock and unlock fine once and then stop. Sounds strange. Sounds like the CB would be active which would be very strange - but then it shouldn't work when pushing the relays manually. If one switch in the door is in the lock and the other one in the unlock position, the caps never get charged and therefore it won't work until one contact is opened somehow - by playing with the switches or vibrations or whatever.
