Well the windshield is still cracked but now it's in the dumpster. I just had the glass replaced a couple of hours ago. Coincidently, Debby Grady called (I ordered the glass from PJ Grady's) to remind me to use the pad for the rear view mirror as I was heading over there - that's service! While I don't know for sure exactly what caused the crack ( http://www.oneskydojo.com/delorean/windsh.JPG )we found that there was not any urethane adhesive for 2" either side of the passenger side clip. Going another couple of inches, the adhesive did not bond to the fiberglass at all. The guys at the glass shop thought the problem might be caused by the glass rubbing on that clip over time. I believe that the prev owner probably jacked it up improperly which caused too much flex in the body. Because of the clip rubbing against the glass it created a weak point and that is where it cracked. Thanks to everyone for the help and advice. Now if I can figure out where to put in the gas I will be all set - just kidding :) Mike Walsh #17084 > -----Original Message----- > From: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf > Of Mike Walsh > Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 4:49 PM > To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [DML] Cracked Windshield > > Well, I am finally getting around to replacing my cracked windshield. > Like everything I have done on #17084 I double-check everything to > make sure I am doing it right. > > Here is a pic of the cracked windshield > http://www.oneskydojo.com/delorean/windsh.JPG > > I will bring it to a local shop that had a look at the manual and the > car.
