Depends on the regulator in the alternator. But, since there is no computer that controls the De Lorean alternator it really doesn't make any difference if you have a one wire or multi wires.. I don't have one of the SpecialT alternators, but I did wire up an 180 amp 3-wire Delco and I used both the "light" (to brown/yellow wire) and "sense" (to small brown wire) terminals on it.
