There was an article in the New York Times not very long ago about people that set up a movie in parking lots or against buildings for the neigborhood. A real hit-and-run kind of operation. With the equipment you can buy rather cheaply now even an amateur can create a good show. Broadcast on a low power FM transmitter and everyone can watch. Usually set up from a pick-up and coordinated over the Internet. There are websites for these things.
