Mythbusters did a whole segment on testing various jamming methods for LIDAR, including painting the car matte black from stem to stern; no difference. Car was an ancient, blocky caddy, which may have had some negative impact on their results. Still, you'd expect there to be SOME difference with the matte paint job.
