Did you jack the car by the crossmember (or some other part of the frame) or by those little pads cast into the underbody? I don't trust the official jacking points -- underbody flexes too much (plus that's a lot of weight to suspend from 24 year old fiberglass). BTW: my second fiddles range from 21 foot long Lincolns to a F150 with 205,000 miles on the odometer to the same AMC I drove in high school.
