Before I go let me be clearer on welding torsion bars. As Toby pointed out, austhentic stainless steels are not heat treatable but imho that isn't a show stopper in this case. I would trust a bar welded by me using my equipment for my own use or a friend only. I have done so once in the past and thus far it's held up fine on the car it was installed in. And I would only weld a left hand bar, since the rights are readily available. (I was under the impression these days the lefts were also available). I might trust a bar welded by someone else but I'd have to talk to them, see what gear they'd use, and test a few of their coupons. In other words they'd have to be able to convince me they know what they're doing. Unless you know enough to make that judgment I strongly suggest you buy another one. If you can't find one for what you consider is a fair price contact me as I have a pair lying around. Best to stay with a vendor though because I tend to be as guilty as charged when it comes to making a profit.
