It's not quite where reverse is in the Esprit. There is a lockout on reverse where you have to lift the shift lever (or pull up on a collar on later models) in order to engage reverse. This could still be used as long as the translator on the gearbox is changed to allow another selection. The DeLorean shifter is completely different, with reverse outside of the 1-2 plane. That said, I haven't heard of anyone in the Lotus community who has done this conversion, which is probably why the website is so dated.
