I think if there was a reliable modest way to gain power, we would *ALL* have done it already. With that said, you can go ahead and change the pistons and rods in your PRV and bolt up the turbos. You will probably like the end result, but it sure would suck to blow the engine up after you have spent all of that money. I have considered doing this myself a number of times, especially because I already have the Island setup... But always go back to the point where I ask why I would spend so much money on 30 year old technology? I am not taunting anyone. I am not a turbo expert by any means, heck I am barley a turbo amateur! I know just what I have learned about turbos (on the DeLorean only) from talking to people like Rob and Fred about it. If you have the cash to spend on a Hi-Po PRV, give John Lane a call. He seems to be *THE* north American PRV expert. Based on what I saw, the designs were similar. The Alpine (310's I think) were fitted with the Twin Turbo engine, similar to what is currently in 502 and 1860. There were some pictures Fred had of other concepts, but they were all foam mock ups of possible manifolds and component layout. Best of my knowledge, the only configurations Legend built were the twin turbo (502) and a single turbo (528). The single turbo came AFTER the twin turbo in an effort to reduce the cost. Although I have spent time looking over 528, I have never heard it run so I don't know if it was a stock PRV with turbos bolted on, or it was a modified PRV with just the one turbo instead of 2. The Legend engines do not run as quiet at the stock PRV. You can hear some piston slap. As far as specific answers to your questions (sourcing parts, and such), My plan would be to rebuild your PRV using parts from a Alpine, or maybe even a Venturi. Those pistons/rings/rods/head gaskets all worked well with forced induction.. Legend had planned on a electronic boost control (I think 502 has this), but 1860 has a vacuum based control with a threaded rod to adjust the waste gate (My guess is this is how they dyno-tested the engines). --- therealdmcvegas <dmcvegas@xxxxxxx> wrote: <SNIP> > I've got 2 RHB5 turbos on the way.
