It has been tried. The problem with the cold start valve is that it does not meter fuel very precisely, it does not atomize it well, and it does not get delivered evenly to all the cylinders. The short answer is you can do only so much with the K-Jetronic and then you should think about replacing it with something better if you are not satisfied with it's performance. It is upgradeable but only to a point, after that you must go with soemthing else. No you are starting to understand why Bosch came out with other, more advanced fuel and engine management systems. K-Jetronic with Lambda was OK for it's time and the application. It was quickly supersceded by more advanced systems as the technology improved.
