Not so. (See workshop manual D:04:10 System Control Monitors, bottom of page) In other words if you disconnect the O2 sensor or short circuit the sensor lead the Lamda ECU will continue to send a fixed voltage to the frequency valve resulting in continued operation. Most non-working frequency valve conditions are related to circuitry problems. i.e. A broken wire, connector problem, or defective component. Refer to D:04:12 items #1, 2, and 3 to locate the source of the problem.
