I replaced the boots on my automatic and it only took about 4 hours, start to finish. Remove the four bolts on each end of the shaft, drop them off the car, change boots, and reinstall. I had the backend up on jackstands and the wheels removed so the access was a lot easier and you can also spin the axle shaft to get to the bolts.
