I've read a couple posts saying that Carson's car was one of the first ones to hit the shores. According to everything I can find (and what I can remember from seeing the car), Carson's was a late '81, October build, VIN 4523. The VIN wasn't that low. Looks like even Johnny had to wait a little for the hottest car of 1981.
