Your symptoms would seem to indicate that once the car warms up and you get vacuum advance it is better. Vacuum advance only becomes available when the engine is warmed up so now you have to check if your base timing is right and if you are getting mechanical advance. Mechanical advance is not dependant on temperature. You could also have worn spark plugs (the gap is too big) or bad ignition wires or a weak coil. Other systems also work differently when the car warms up like Lambda and the air intake. You may have to check them all.
