I'd agree that it is possible to fix, even without seeing the damage. You just need to find someone capable of doing such work. I thought my door was impossible to fix-even DMCH told me they couldn't do it-but you should see what it looks like now, doesn't even look as if there was any dent-just a few scratches I still have to take care of. I fixed this dent myself after numerous hours of work and lots of motivation-see webpage http://damngoodsite.net/5003damage.html at the bottom. aside from the few fixable scratchs-looks like nothing happened.
