David, There are thousands of DeLoreans left in the world, and most of the parts you saw were from "destroyed" cars already. The DeLorean isn't alive, so I don't think you have to worry about killing it. You've got a lot more research to do before you buy one.... When you have the money, you can do whatever you want with your own car!
