Usually what that means (at least here in IL) is that your gas cap would not fit their gas cap tester. So you get a free pass. There are some evap parts (vapor recovery cannister) in the driver side rear pontoon, but there is no way to test it either. Modern cars (1996 and up) have a build-in diagnostic to light the "check engine" light if that thing fails.
