Insurance company in business to make money. Is going to get as much from salvage vehicle as possible. If it doesn't ask for higher dollar figure, is guaranteed not to get it. Will ask high but hopefully agree to something lower. Whatever you do, don't show your hand. Insurance company has no idea how much of vehicle is salvageable. They don't need to know. Tell them story about DeLo windshields cracking because of plastic body, gas slowly eating hole in tank, whatever. Just need to convince them you want entire vehicle for future possibilities. General public is so mortified when it discovers car not made of stainless steel that could be promising line of reasoning. Wonder if any of them would ever be open mided enough to notice that plastic did pretty good job of saving your life? $300 seems low. Given amount they're paying out, they must surely suspect more than that in remaining vehicle. They just have no idea where it is or how to sell it. Advantage: Louie. Of course they'll have car. Advantage: insurance company. Good Luck. I'm getting a really great replacement cost for VIN 10115, but I feel they're jerking us around with the buyback option. I remember reading that people on the list were saying that buyback can be as low as $300 on cars, but the insurance company is quoting me a number that is many many times that. So does anyone have any additional thoughts on the subject, or personal experiences? > > -Louie Golden > VIN- Coming again VERY soon :-) > > _____________________________________________________________ > Pre-order the updated second edition of "DeLorean: Stainless Steel Illusion" now!
