Now, I've had plenty of people gawk at me in my DeLorean, and also not quite a few macho guys who try so hard to not look interested that they look funny not looking. However, today I had the most interesting of gawkers. I had a helicopter come and position himself off me and follow me for about 5 miles. At first I thought it was a coincidence, but then I realized he/she was matching my speed and following off my drivers side close enough for a good look and even with me. This was after cirlcling around me for the complete view! 60 MPH is pretty slow for a helicopter too. I may be loosing money by not keeping the miles low, but I am making up for it in the value of diving a fun car that is fun to look at. Kind of like driving around Disney World. After about 2 months I have already been photographed 5 times that I saw. I am in the photograph with several folks as well who wanted a picture with me and my DeLorean. I've had pretty coops at work come up and ask for a ride, acting like school girls. One time I came out from the Drs. office and a girl was taking a picture. She saw me and panicked, as if it was a big no-no. She turned around and pretended to be taking a picture of her car. Problem was, her Mom was in the car and shouted out, "It must be his car! Get a picture of him with his car!" She asked if it would be alright and I said, "Why do you think I drive it? To enjoy it and for others to enjoy it!" Got any stories you'd like to share? I'd love to hear other stories! Dan in Cocoa, FL (3932)
