Along those lines, If you > have a concern, why not write to the president? why sit here and piss and > moan, no one here can do anything about it, you all say, "if things would > change..." then send your concerns to the President! <SNIP> I've tried real hard to stay out of the DOA/DW fray, but that statement has to be addressed. Some years ago while still a loyal DOA member and long time DW advertiser, I did just that. I challenged the DOA leadership with various concerns, including violation of California's laws regulating non-profit corporations, their preferential treatment in DW of one particular advertiser, his being allowed to pass judgment in advance on my ads before they were published, misuse of association funds, etc. Instead of a reasonable response or inquiry on their part, I got a nasty letter from HIS attorney warning me to back off. I told his attorney where he could put his threat, but ultimately had to decide that DOA was no longer worthy of my support as either a member or an advertiser. Also, I presumed that as more and more members got fed up with DOA it would just implode, and like most of us who are aware of the goings-on there, I really don't care any more what happens to them - they and their little travel magazine are irrelevant. I think Gary "IN2TIME" summed it up very well. Darryl Tinnerstet Specialty Automotive McCleary, WA www.delorean-parts.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
