Hello group, I'm currently *trying* to change out my alternator. The alternator I'm installing is this one: <http://autoexpress.safeshopper.com/1261/9102.htm?506> Question one: The universal bracket I'm trying to use is not working, the hole on the alternator is too far "around" it for the universal bracket to reach around and connect. Not enough angle, the universal bracket is too straight. Any thoughts? Also, since the new alternator is GM, I've purchased the generic plug for the wires. Question: the plug has a white wire and red wire. The harness on the car has two wires of similar color. One is about 3 times the size of the other. Am I correct in assuming that the thick wire should connect to the red wire on the adapter plug? And what is the function of these wires? This whole project is becoming more perplexing than I anticipated. It may be due to the fact that it may not have had the original alternator on it in the first place. I'm sure more questions will follow, but any enlightnement you can pass along will be appreciated! Nick VIN 3092
