The Rover V8 engine is actually pretty easy to get in the US.
I got mine from an engine recycler KB Cores. (now located in Kankakee
IL). I also put him in touch with a guy on the east coast who
specializes in putting Rover V8 s in Triumphs to make them TR8s.
Kyle would sent 5 engines a year to the east coast. Common engines now
to get are the 4.2 or 4.6L versions. The 4.2 can be upgraded to the 4.6
for about $300//
The cost for these aluminum V8s runs from 300 to 900 US dollars. A real
bargain compared to a chevy or ford V8 at $3000.
These 4.6s also have serpentine belts which make them simpler to
install than the pulley version I put in my car.
If you get the 4.6 also get the fuel injection system. then get an
after market computer to control it.
